In 1607, the English arrived at Jamestown and built James Fort in a few weeks. Matthew Parrott, a Computer Science major at Virginia Tech, created this virtual fort based upon art work, textual descriptions, and physical evidence. Recent archaeological work suggests that the structures pictured here may not have been as substantial as shown. As new details emerge from the work of archaeologists at Jamestown, the virtual fort will reflect the results of this ongoing research.
